KENTUCKY MUSIC HALL OF FAME ANNOUNCES 2019 ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
Rockcastle County’s own His Heart Quartet chosen for 2019 residency

RENFRO VALLEY, KY – For the second year, the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame has announced a special Residency Program. The Artists in Residence program is an ambassador program for the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame where one group or a single individual is chosen each year to represent the Hall of Fame. The program is also an aid to the chosen group because it helps promote them and grow their following in the industry.

For 2019, the Artist in Residence chosen is His Heart Quartet of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. The musical group will perform at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum monthly and all special events. On May 11th, they will have an official new album release party for “Truth” at the Hall of Fame.

Neal Sluder, Chairman of the Board of Directors, noted that, “apart from the fact that they a very accomplished group in their own right, we felt that the His Heart Quartet guys shared many of the same values that we cherish at the Hall of Fame and we felt they would be excellent representatives of our organization. The Hall of Fame had a great group as the Artists in Residence last year in Kentucky Just Us. We have a wonderful relationship with them and both parties have benefited greatly from that pairing. Playing at and representing the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame has helped propel them in the national spotlight and we assume our partnership with His Heart Quartet has the possibility of having similar results. We are really excited to work with them towards that goal.”

His Heart Quartet was founded in 2010 with members Bill Sowder, Jeremy Dickerson, Kyle Harris, and Bob Abbott. The southern gospel quartet originates from Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. The band’s name is a result of the desire of these men to be seekers of God’s heart and to share God’s love to their audiences. They have performed for Governor Steve Beshear as part of the 100 year celebration at the Governor’s Mansion in 2014. Two of their songs, “Makin’ a New Start” and “I Can Take You to the Place” have charted on the Singing News Charts.

In becoming the second Artist in Residence at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, the His Heart Quartet expressed their appreciation:

Wow! What an honor to be chosen Artist in Residence for the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame! So many famous artists from all music genres have been inducted here for their achievements. It never ceases to amaze me how good God is to His Heart Quartet! He continues to honor our efforts and this opportunity is just another way we’re given to share the Good News. Thank you KMHOF for what I consider another Blessing! – Bill Sowder

With the rich history in all genres of music in Kentucky, I am excited, humbled and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the artist in residence program at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame. – Jeremy Dickerson

Thanks Kentucky Music Hall of Fame for choosing us as Artists in Residence. We are blessed to receive such an honor. – Bob Abbott

The Kentucky Music Hall of Fame is a hidden treasure that shares the rich heritage and history of musicianship in Kentucky and the impact it has had on our culture. It is truly a blessing to add to this heritage by being selected as the Artist in Residence for 2019. I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to share the Gospel and for the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame providing a platform to share the Message. Thank you, Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, for all you do to keep our history alive. – Kyle Harris
