The Mountain Minor Soundtrack Celebration

Kentucky Living Magazine calls it “a story of hope and courage, of choosing joy through difficult times.”

Join us on Saturday, November 7 for a celebration of the new soundtrack album for the award-winning, Kentucky-inspired movie “The Mountain Minor.” Meet writer-director Dale Farmer and tap your toes to live music performed by several cast members.

Inspired by a true story, “The Mountain Minor” follows an Eastern Kentucky family as they move to Ohio during the Great Depression. As 12-year-old “Charlie Abner” grows into adulthood, he longs to return to his beloved mountain home and the old-time music of his ancestors.

“The Mountain Minor” is full of old-time music performed by great artists like Elizabeth LaPrelle
(of the acclaimed folk duo Anna & Elizabeth), Dan Gellert, Mike Oberst and his band The Tillers, Ma Crow, Asa Nelson, Hazel Pasley, Aaron Wolfe, Lucas Pasley, Susan Pepper, Warren Waldron, Judy Waldron and more.*

The Mountain Minor Soundtrack Celebration will take place at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame & Museum on Saturday, November 7 at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free and all ages are admitted. Copies of “The Mountain Minor” movie and soundtrack album will be available for purchase.

Due to COVID-19, social distancing will be observed. Face masks are required in the auditorium and are recommended in exhibit areas of the museum. Hand sanitizer will be available.

*Not all cast members will be present.
